New Class Commencement: 7th June 2022 – Intermediate 2

A new Intermediate 2 class will commence on Tuesday, 7th June 2022. Lessons are twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7.30- 9.30 pm). To ensure you have a seat, please visit our Society’s office during our opening hours (7.00 pm – 9.30 pm on weekdays) to register and pay the fees in full. Class sizes are now limited to 17 persons on a first-come-first-serve basis in order to ensure adequate social distancing as mandated by current Government guidelines. A new Intermediate 2 class will commence on Sunday, 13th February 2022. Lessons are twice a week, on Sundays (10am – 12pm) and Mondays (7.30 – 9.30pm). To ensure you have a seat, please visit our Society’s office during our opening hours (7PM – 930PM on weekdays) to register and pay the fees in full. Class sizes are now limited to 17 persons on a first-come-first-serve basis in order to ensure adequate social distancing as mandated by current Government guidelines. New Class Commencement: Intermediate II – 25th May 2021

A new Intermediate 2 class will commence on Tuesday, 25th May 2021. Lessons are twice a week, on Tuesdays (7.30pm – 9.30pm) and Sundays (10.00am – 12.00pm). To ensure you have a seat, please visit our Society’s office during our opening hours (7PM – 930PM on weekdays) to register and pay the fees in full. If you intend to register online, please call our office directly during our opening hours for detailed registration and payment instructions. Only students who have paid the fees in full are considered to be registered. Instructions on how to collect course material will be provided by your instructor upon registration confirmation. Please note that failure to settle the fees by the end of the first lesson will result a forfeit and the seat will be offered to the next eligible applicant. This is a mixed mode class with online sessions on Tuesdays and face-to-face sessions on Sundays at PJLS. You may refer to our FAQ for general course details and other related information. Note: in the event the MCO is prolonged, expect all lessons for this intake to be online.

Memo regarding resumption of lessons

Based on the trajectory of current MCO developments, the Society has decided to allow resumption of classroom activities starting March 8th, 2021.

If you are already an enrolled student, your teacher will be contacting you in due course regarding the specific date of resumption.

For prospective students looking to register for new intakes, please look out for our announcements, which we will publish after 28th March, 2021

To ensure you have a seat, please visit our Society’s office during our opening hours (7PM – 930PM on weekdays) to register and pay the fees in full. Only students who have paid the fees in full are considered to be registered. Announcement Regarding Resumption of Lessons at PJLS

We are pleased to announce that starting 27th July 2020, the Penang Japanese Language Society will be resuming lessons on premises. In adherence to government regulations, all students are requested to register their names, contact numbers, and body temperature at the office every time before proceeding to their respective classrooms. Students are also reminded to obey “new normal” social distancing measures. Wearing of masks is encouraged. Moving forward, new intakes will have enrollments not exceeding 20 persons. For students of existing classes which already have student enrollments that exceed 20 persons, please make sure you contact your respective teachers to rearrange the lesson times to meet the 20 person max per session criteria. Thank you for your cooperation.

New Fee Schedule Effective 1st April 2015

Please be advised that our fee schedule will be revised to the following effective 1st April 2015. Prices stated below are inclusive of textbooks:
Elementary 1 (72 hrs) : RM560
Elementary 2 (64 hrs) : RM485
Intermediate 1 (64 hrs) : RM522
Intermediate 2 (64 hrs) : RM554
Advanced* (16 hrs) : RM282
Conversation* (16 hrs) : RM282
*these classes assume some prior knowledge of Japanese (at least N3). Additional fees for supplementary material may apply.
