New Class Commencement: 28th June 2022 – Intermediate 1

A new Intermediate 1 class will commence on Tuesday, 28th June 2022. Lessons are twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7.30- 9.30 pm). To ensure you have a seat, please visit our Society’s office during our opening hours (7.00 pm – 9.30 pm on weekdays) to register and pay the fees in full. Class sizes are now limited to 17 persons on a first-come-first-serve basis in order to ensure adequate social distancing as mandated by current Government guidelines. Announcement regarding the Japanese Language Proficiency Test 2022A (July 2022 Test)

Please be advised that we have received a new communication from the Administrator of the JLPT here in Malaysia.

An important thing to note: Registration Period for JLPT 2022 July Test will be from April 1 (Fri) – 10 (Sun), 2022. Due to the limited number of seats, registration may close earlier if the maximum number of candidates at the individual test sites is reached.

Information regarding reopening of PJLS office

In line with the expected reopening of schools, PJLS is planning to resume face to face classes from October 10th onwards. For students whose classes were interrupted by the MCO, your respective teachers will be contacting you with the relevant details.

Face-to-face classes will only be allowed for students who are fully vaccinated. SOPs regarding social distancing and mask wearing still apply. If you are having a fever or any other flu like symptoms, or are still not fully vaccinated on the day of the classes, please do not come to PJLS.

New intakes will be announced in due course. Please wait until we have settled the arrangements for our existing students.

Announcement Regarding December 2021 Japanese Language Proficiency Test in Malaysia – UPDATED 6th Sept 2021

Dear prospective candidates, please refer to the latest memo regarding the Dec 2021 edition of the JLPT. Please take note that this year, the Penang Test Centre will be the Penang Japanese Language Society premises and NOT DISTED College. To register online please visit www.jlsm.org

Memo regarding the suspension of classes and new intakes due to MCO (10th May 2021 – 23rd May 2021)

Due to the reinstatement of the MCO in Penang, we regret to inform you that there will be no classes conducted between 10th and 23rd May 2021. Accordingly, new intakes originally scheduled to start on 18th May will also be postponed until a new schedule can be confirmed. For students who have registered for the new classes, your instructors will be contacting you individually to explain further regarding your specific intakes. We apologize for this inconvenience. Please remember to socially distance and stay safe.

Only students who have paid the fees in full are considered to be registered. Failure to settle the fees by the end of the first lesson will result a forfeit and the seat will be offered to the next eligible applicant. Please note that this class is held online. To ensure you have a seat, please visit our Society’s office during our opening hours (7PM – 930PM on weekdays) to register and pay the fees in full. Only students who have paid the fees in full are considered to be registered. Memo regarding resumption of lessons

Based on the trajectory of current MCO developments, the Society has decided to allow resumption of classroom activities starting March 8th, 2021.

If you are already an enrolled student, your teacher will be contacting you in due course regarding the specific date of resumption.

For prospective students looking to register for new intakes, please look out for our announcements, which we will publish after 28th March, 2021
